Transmission Fluid Filler Tube and Seal Replacement Allison AT
Removal Procedure
- Remove the oil level indicator.
- Remove the bolt and the washer securing
the oil level indicator tube to the engine bracket.
- Place a container under the transmission oil pan in order to catch
the draining oil.
- Remove the nut securing the oil level indicator tube to the transmission
oil pan.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nut in order to secure the oil level indicator tube to the
transmission oil pan.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 130 N·m (96 lb ft).
- Install the bolt and the washer in order to secure the oil level
indicator tube to the engine bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
- Install the oil level indicator.
- Check the transmission oil level. Add oil as necessary. Refer
