J 35833 Speedometer Gear Bushing Remover

1. Remove the speedometer sensor from the speedometer bushing.



2. Remove the setscrew for the speedometer gear bushing.
3. Using the  (1) remove the speedometer gear bushing.



4. Remove the speedometer driven gear (1) from the speedometer drive bushing (3).
5. Remove and discard the O-ring (2) from the speedometer drive bushing (3).



6. Remove the speedometer drive gear.

1. Install the speedometer drive gear. The inside spline end goes towards the yoke.



2. Install the speedometer driven gear (1) in the transmission extension.
3. Install a NEW O-ring (2) seal on the speedometer drive bushing (3).
4. Install the speedometer drive bushing.
5. Install the speedometer drive bushing setscrew.

Tighten
Tighten the speedometer drive bushing setscrew to 10 N·m (89 lb in).




6. Install the speedometer sensor to the speedometer bushing.
