Important: When you service the synchronizers, retain in order the components that you remove.

1. Cover the 5th/6th synchronizer with a shop towel to prevent loss of springs and the shift block plungers.
2. Remove the synchronizer sleeve from the synchronizer hub.
3. Remove the shift block plungers, the springs, and the block.



4. Remove the lateral plunger springs from the synchronizer blocking rings.
5. Remove the synchronizer blocking rings from the synchronizer hubs.

Important: When you service the synchronizers, retain in order the components that you remove.

1. Remove the following synchronizer blocking rings from the 3rd/4th synchronizer assembly.

•	The blocking rings

•	The center rings

•	The inner rings




2. Cover the 3rd/4th synchronizer with a shop towel to prevent lost of springs and the shift block plungers.
3. Remove the synchronizer sleeve from the synchronizer hub.
4. Remove the shift block plungers, the springs, and the block.

The 1st gear is not synchronized. The 2nd gear synchronizer was removed during mainshaft disassembly.
