Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the assist handle bolts.

  2. Object Number: 229889  Size: SH
  3. Remove the assist handle.

  4. Object Number: 588991  Size: SH
  5. Remove the instrument panel lower trim.

  6. Object Number: 229897  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the audio system. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.

  8. Object Number: 229927  Size: SH
  9. Remove the heater module right side.
  10. Remove the control rod and the retaining screws.

  11. Object Number: 574888  Size: SH
  12. Remove the mode actuator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 574888  Size: SH
  1. Install the mode actuator.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the control rod and the retaining screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the heater module right side.

  6. Object Number: 229897  Size: SH
  7. Connect the audio system. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.

  8. Object Number: 588991  Size: SH
  9. Install the instrument panel lower trim.

  10. Object Number: 229889  Size: SH
  11. Install the assist handle.
  12. Install the assist handle bolts.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
