Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the water deflector.

  3. Object Number: 214714  Size: SH
  4. Remove the lock rod from the handle.

  5. Object Number: 214717  Size: SH
  6. Remove the nut and bolt from the left door handle.
  7. Remove the left door handle.

  8. Object Number: 214716  Size: SH
  9. Remove the nut and bolt from the right door handle.
  10. Remove the right door handle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 214717  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the left door handle with the nut and bolt.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  3. Install the right door handle with the nut and bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  5. Install the lock rod to the handle.

  6. Object Number: 214712  Size: SH
  7. Adjust the handle adjusting screw-to-lock clearance to 1.0-3.0 mm (0.039-0.118 in).
  8. Install the water deflector.
  9. Install the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
