Removal Procedure
Caution: When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough
edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce
the chance of personal injury.
Caution: If a window is cracked but still intact, crisscross the window with
masking tape in order to reduce the risk of damage or personal injury.
- Remove the mirror assembly from the door (1). Refer
to
Outside Rearview Mirror Replacement
.
- Remove the upper trim.
- Raise the passenger window.
- Close the inner lower window.
Caution: If broken glass falls into the defroster outlets, it can be blown into
the passenger compartment and cause personal injury.
- Cover the window completely with masking tape.
- Using a hammer and a awl, punch a hole in the window.
- Clean all glass from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Apply primer to the window
and the door panel as shown to the areas indicated. Allow the primer to dry
at least 3 minutes.
- Install a new molding and a new seal to the window.
- Apply adhesive to the window and to the molding as shown to the
areas indicated.
- Install the window to
the door panel with the screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 9 N·m (79 lb in).
