Did you review the system operation and perform the necessary inspections?

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Observe the CHECK GAGES indicator in the IPC.

Does the indicator illuminate after the displays test?

Observe the engine oil pressure gage in the IPC.

Does the engine oil pressure gage display less than the specified value?

5 psi (34.5 kPa)

Observe the engine coolant temperature gage in the IPC.

Does the engine coolant temperature gage display more than the specified value?

118°C (245°F)

  1. Turn the engine OFF.
  2. Disconnect the multifunction alarm module (MFAM).
  3. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  4. Observe the CHECK GAGES indicator in the IPC.

Does the indicator illuminate in the IPC?

Test the engine oil pressure signal circuit for a short to ground between the MFAM and the IPC. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the engine coolant temperature signal circuit for a short to ground between the MFAM and the IPC. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the check gages fuel indicator control circuit for a short to ground between the IPC and S262. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
