Did you review the system operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

Go to Symptoms - Instrument Panel, Gages and Console

  1. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  2. Observe the CHECK GAGES indicator in the IPC.

Does the CHECK GAGES indicator illuminate during the displays test?

Go to Step 4

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the multifunction alarm module (MFAM).
  3. Connect a 3 ampere fused jumper between the check gages indicator control circuit and a good ground.
  4. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  5. Observe the CHECK GAGES indicator in the IPC.

Does the CHECK GAGES indicator illuminate in the IPC?

Go to Step 7

Test the check gages indicator control circuit for an open or for a high resistance between the IPC and S262. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the IPC. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
