Did you review the interior lights dimming operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Symptoms - Lighting Systems

1. Place the headlamp switch in the PARK position.
2. Operate the instrument panel (IP) dimmer switch.

Does the backlighting intensity change?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Test for a short to ground in the backlighting dimming control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Replace the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 5

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
