J 43263 Valve Spring Compressor

    Important:  Ensure that the twelve valve bridge studs are pressed into place to a final height of 37-38 mm (1.46-1.50 inches).

  1. Install the valve bridge studs in the cylinder head with J 43268
  2. Apply clean engine oil to the valve stem.
  3. Insert the valve into the proper port.
  4. Install the valve spring seat to the cylinder head.
  5. Important: The painted part of the valve springs (close spaced) coils must be towards the cylinder head.

  6. Install the valve spring with the retainer.

  7. Object Number: 736672  Size: SH
  8. Compress the valve springs, using the J 43263 .
  9. Important: Apply a small amount of grease to the end of the valve, this will help retain the valve keys in position while releasing tool J 43263 .

  10. Apply a small amount of grease on the end of the valve stem before installing in the valve guide.
  11. Install the valve keys to the valve stem.
  12. Important: Make sure that the valve keys are installed properly before proceeding to the next set of valves.

  13. Slowly release the valve spring compressing tool J 43263 .
