    Object Number: 31124  Size: SH
  1. Remove the overdrive clutch roller assembly (512) from the overdrive carrier assembly (514).

  2. Object Number: 31125  Size: SH
  3. Remove the overdrive carrier pinion gear pin retaining ring (521) from the overdrive carrier assembly (514).
  4. Remove the overdrive carrier pinion gear pin retainer (520).

  5. Object Number: 31127  Size: SH

    Important: 

       • Before removing the overdrive carrier pinion gear pins (519), mark the location of the overdrive carrier pinion gears (518) and the overdrive carrier pinion gear pins (519) so they can be identified for reassembly.
       • Keep all washers and roller bearings together with the overdrive carrier pinion gear and pin they were removed with. The pinion gears, washers and roller bearings must be reinstalled in their original locations.

  6. Remove one overdrive carrier pinion gear (518) and pin (519) at a time.
  7. Inspect the overdrive carrier pinion gear (518), pin (519), roller bearings (517), steel thrust washers (516) and thrust washers (515) for wear or damage.

  8. Object Number: 31129  Size: SH
  9. Remove the overrun clutch housing thrust bearing assembly (513) from the overdrive carrier assembly (514). The bearing will fall out when the pinion gears are removed.

  10. Object Number: 31132  Size: SH
  11. Inspect the pinion pocket thrust surfaces for burrs.
  12. Inspect the overdrive clutch roller assembly (512).
  13. Inspect the overdrive carrier assembly (514) for cracks, damage and wear.
  14. Inspect the overrun clutch housing thrust bearing assembly (513).

    Object Number: 31125  Size: SH
  1. Remove the overdrive carrier pinion gear pin retaining ring (521) from the overdrive carrier assembly (514).
  2. Remove the overdrive carrier pinion gear pin retainer (520).

  3. Object Number: 31127  Size: SH

    Note: Before removing the overdrive carrier pinion gear pins (519), mark the location of the overdrive carrier pinion gears (518) and the overdrive carrier pinion gear pins (519) so they can be identified for reassembly.

    Note: Keep all washers and roller bearings together with the overdrive carrier pinion gear and pin they were removed with. The pinion gears, washers and roller bearings must be reinstalled in their original locations.

  4. Remove one overdrive carrier pinion gear (518) and pin (519) at a time.
  5. Inspect the overdrive carrier pinion gear (518), pin (519), roller bearings (517), steel thrust washers (516) and thrust washers (515) for wear or damage.

  6. Object Number: 774708  Size: SH
  7. Remove the overrun clutch housing thrust bearing assembly (513) from the overdrive carrier assembly (514). The bearing will fall out when the pinion gears are removed.
  8. Inspect the pinion pocket thrust surfaces for burrs.
  9. Inspect the overdrive carrier assembly (514) for cracks, damage and wear.
  10. Inspect the overrun clutch housing thrust bearing assembly (513).
