Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to
Fuel Pressure Relief
.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Wipe the vent hose connection at the fuel tank and then disconnect the
fuel filler tube and clamp.
- Wipe the fuel filler tube connection at the fuel tank and then disconnect
the fuel filler tube and clamp (2).
- Remove the fuel tube attaching screws (2) and the fuel filler tube (3)
from the fuel tank (1).
Installation Procedure
Important: The fuel tank filler neck clamps must be properly positioned and aligned. Otherwise,
the filler neck may become disconnected from the fuel tank.
- Install the fuel filler tube and the fuel filler tube attaching screws.
- Connect the fuel filler vent hose and clamp.
- Connect the fuel filler tube, hose and clamp (2).
- Reinstall the fuel tank filler cap.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Inspect for leaks.
