Balancer Remover and Installer
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.

- Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
- Remove the accessory drive pulley.
- Install the centering plate and the forcing screw to the balancer.
- Turn the forcing screw clock wise to remove the balancer.
Installation Procedure
Tools Required

Balancer Remover and Installer
- Place the balancer on the crankshaft.
- Slide the balancer into place until the forcing screw can be threaded
into the crankshaft.
- Thread the nut supplied with the tool onto the forcing screw.
- Tighten the nut until the balancer is fully seated.
- Remove the tool.
- Install the accessory drive pulley. Refer to Accessory Drive Belt

- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
