Voltmeter Does Not Indicate 13 to 16 Volts

DEFINITION: The Voltmeter on the Instrument Cluster does not indicate between 13 and 16 volts while the engine is running. However, it does indicate some voltage and it is not inaccurate by more than two volts. The Battery Indicating Lamp may or may not be displayed with the engine running. The lamp did illuminate with the engine stopped.

  1. Connect a voltmeter between the battery terminals.
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Observe the indicated voltage.
  4. Stop the engine.

Is the actual battery voltage between 13 and 16 Volts with the engine running?

13 V to 16 V
