Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant from the radiator.

  2. Object Number: 9972  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the coolant recovery reservoir hose.
  4. Loosen the radiator hose clamps.
  5. Disconnect the (upper) radiator inlet hose from the radiator. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 180301  Size: SH
  7. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .
  8. Disconnect the (lower) radiator outlet hose from the radiator.
  9. Disconnect the heater hose from the radiator.
  10. Disconnect the engine oil cooler lines from the radiator (if equipped). Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  11. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator, if equipped.
  12. Lift the lower fan shroud just enough to disengage the locating tabs.

  13. Object Number: 1363  Size: SH
  14. Remove the radiator by lifting it up and out of the vehicle.
  15. Lift the lower fan shroud from the vehicle.
  16. Inspect all sealing surfaces for deterioration or signs of leakage.

Installation Procedure

  1. Place the lower fan shroud in position under the cooling fan. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 1363  Size: SH
  3. Install the radiator onto the rubber mounts in the vehicle.
  4. Position the lower fan shroud against the radiator, while engaging the locating tabs.
  5. Connect the engine oil cooler line nuts to the radiator, if equipped. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Connect the transmission oil cooler line nuts to the radiator, if equipped.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the oil cooler line nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  9. Connect the radiator outlet hose to the radiator. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement .
  10. Connect the heater hose to the radiator.

  12. Fasten the upper fan shroud to the lower fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .
  13. Connect the radiator inlet hose to the radiator. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement .

  14. Object Number: 9972  Size: SH
  15. Connect the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the radiator.
  16. Fill the radiator with the specified coolant and concentration. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  17. Check the cooling system for leaks. Refer to Cooling System Leak Testing .
