Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 113  Size: SH
  1. Release the park brake.
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Loosen the front cable at the equalizer.

  4. Object Number: 112  Size: SH
  5. Remove the brake release handle.

  6. Object Number: 113  Size: SH
  7. Remove the lever assembly.
  8. Disconnect the cable from the lever.

  9. Object Number: 114  Size: SH
  10. Press in on the retaining fingers.
  11. Remove the retainer from the brake lever bracket. Press in on the retaining fingers.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 114  Size: SH
  1. Install the front brake cable to the brake lever assembly.

  2. Object Number: 113  Size: SH
  3. Install the brake lever assembly.
  4. Install the bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft ).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the front brake cable retainer on the brake lever bracket.

  7. Object Number: 112  Size: SH
  8. Install the brake release handle.
  9. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Interior Trim.
  10. Adjust the park brake cable. Refer to Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment .
