Removal Procedure
- Remove the radiator grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the radiator air intake baffle. Refer to
Air Intake Baffle Replacement - Radiator
in Engine
Cooling.
- Remove the bumper impact bar to the frame nuts and bolts.
- Remove the bumper impact bar to the brace nuts and bolts.
- Remove the bumper impact bar from the vehicle.
- Remove the side extensions
from the bumper impact bar, if equipped. Refer to
Front Bumper Impact Bar Extension Replacement
.
Installation Procedure
- Install the side extensions to the bumper impact bar, if equipped.

- Install the bumper impact
bar to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bumper
impact bar to the frame and bolts and nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the bumper impact bar to the frame bolts to 40 N·m
(30 lb ft).
- Install the bumper impact bar to the brace nuts and the bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bumper impact bar to the brace bolts to 40 N·m
(30 lb ft).
- Install the radiator air intake baffle. Refer to
Air Intake Baffle Replacement - Radiator
in Engine
Cooling.
- Install the radiator grille. Refer to
Grille Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
