Inspect for a broken thrust block. Refer to Locking Differential Disassemble .

Is the thrust block broken?

1. Replace the thrust block with a block of identical thickness.
2. Inspect closely for other damage.

Is a noise still present in the locking rear axle?

Inspect for broken differential gears. Refer to Locking Differential Disassemble .

Are the differential gears broken?

Replace the differential gears.
