Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

  1. Place the headlamp switch in HEAD position.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the following components:
  3. • From LT HDLP Fuse to ground
    • From RT HDLP Fuse to ground

Does the test lamp illuminate at both fuses?

Connect a test lamp from CKT 1940 (ORN) at the headlamp switch to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1940 (ORN) between the IP Fuse Block and the headlamp switch.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a test lamp between CKT 352 (WHT) at the headlamp switch to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the headlamp switch.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a test lamp from pin 86 of the Headlamp Power Relay connector to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 352 (WHT) between the headlamp switch and the Headlamp Power Relay.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Remove the Headlamp Power Relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp from pin 2 to pin 1 of the Headlamp Power Relay connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Replace the Headlamp Power Relay.
  2. Retest the system.

Does the symptom persist?

Replace the underhood fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 350 (BLK) between the underhood fuse block and G102.

  1. Disconnect C211 at the steering column.
  2. Connect a fused jumper between terminal E12 (YEL) and terminal E13 (YEL) in order to bypass the multifunction switch.

Do the headlamps light?

Inspect the integrity of the terminals.

Are the terminals in need of repair?

  1. Remove the Headlamp Ground Relay.
  2. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) from pin 30 at the Headlamp Ground Relay to pin E13 at the multifunction Switch.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

1 ohms

Locate and repair the open in CKT 10 (YEL) between the Multifunction Switch and the underhood fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Replace the connector at the Multifunction Switch.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between relay terminal 30 and terminal 87A of the Headlamps Ground Relay.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

1 ohms

Locate and repair the open in CKT 350 (BLK) between the underhood fuse block and G102.

Is the repair complete?
