Inspect the HAZ LP fuse in the underhood fuse block.

Is the fuse open?

Backprobe connector C211 terminal A4 to ground.

Is voltage present?

Battery Voltage

Go to Step 4

Locate and repair the open in CKT 140 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

Go to Exterior Lights System Check

1. Activate the hazard switch.
2. Backprobe connector C211 terminal E1 to ground.

Is voltage present?

Battery Voltage

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Replace the multifunction switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Standard.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Exterior Lights System Check

--

1. Remove the turn signal lamp flasher.
2. Test turn signal lamp flasher connector terminal A1 to ground with the hazard switch activated.

Is voltage present?

Battery Voltage

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 8

Locate and repair an open in CKT 1696 (GRY).

Is the repair complete?

Replace the turn signal lamp flasher.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Exterior Lights System Check

1. Remove the turn signal lamp flasher.
2. Test the turn signal lamp flasher connector terminal A1 to ground with the hazard switch activated.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

1 ohms

Go to Step 11

1. Disconnect connector C211.
2. Test the continuity of connector C211 terminal A4 to ground.

Is continuity present?

Locate and repair a short in CKT 140 (ORN).

Is the repair complete?

Test the continuity of connector C211 terminal E1 to ground.

Is continuity present?

Go to Intermittents and Poor Connections Diagnosis

Locate and repair a short in CKT 1696 (GRY).

Is the repair complete?
