Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the speaker connector.
  3. Measure the resistance of the speaker.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

4-15 ohms

Go to Step 3

Measure the resistance at the speaker connector from terminal A to ground.

Does the resistance equal the specified value?

Infinite

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Measure resistance at the speaker connector from terminal B to ground.

Does the resistance equal the specified value?

Infinite

  1. Reconnect the speaker connector.
  2. Measure the resistance at the radio connector for the speaker feed circuits.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

4-15 ohms

Replace the speaker. Refer to Radio Front Speaker Replacement or Radio Front Side Door Speaker Replacement or Radio Rear Speaker Replacement .

Is the replacement complete?

Repair a short to ground in the speaker feed circuit.

  1. Inspect for poor connections at the radio.
  2. Inspect for poor connections at the speaker.

Are any poor connections present?

  1. Inspect for poor connections at the speaker.
  2. Inspect for poor connections at the in-line connectors.
  3. Inspect for an open in the speaker feed circuits.

Are any poor connections present?
