Cleaning and Inspection Procedure
- Clean all of the parts in a suitable solvent.
- Inspect the shaft for wear or scoring.
- Inspect the forks for the following conditions:
- Inspect the shift lever and the blockout bushing for wear.
- Inspect the pins for wear or distortion.
- Inspect the shift shaft socket assembly components for wear or distortion.
Air dry the parts.
Important: The shift fork, the pads and the inserts are serviced as an assembly only.

| • | (The edges of the forks turn black in color. This is a normal condition.) |
Important: Wear or distortion requires replacement of the assembly and close inspection of the mating parts.
