Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  3. Object Number: 345888  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the brake pipe fittings.

  5. Object Number: 179894  Size: SH
  6. Remove the retainer.
  7. Remove the rear flex hose to bracket bolt.
  8. Remove the rear flex hose.

Installation Procedure

    Important: After installation, ensure that the rear flex hose is not twisted and that the rear flex hose does not touch any of the other components.

  1. Install the rear flex hose.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear flex hose to bracket bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  5. Install the retainer.

  7. Connect the brake pipe fittings.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

    Bleed the brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

  9. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  10. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle.
