Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Assemble - Off Vehicle Column Shift

Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 293254 Size: SH
  1. Align the block tooth on the steering shaft assembly (1) to the 12 o' clock position.
  2. Place the ignition switch in the "OFF" position. Remove the key.

    3. Object Number: 293252 Size: SH
  3. Install the wave washer (1) onto the steering shaft assembly (2).

    4. Object Number: 415291 Size: SH

    Important: A new SRS coil assembly will be pre-centered. Do not remove the centering tab from the new SRS coil assembly until the installation is complete.

  4. If reusing the original SRS coil assembly, refer to linkInflatable Restraint Coil Centering - Off Vehicle (Column Shift and Floor Shift)
  5. Align the SRS coil assembly (4) with the horn tower on the turn signal cancel cam assembly (1).
  6. Slide the new SRS coil assembly (4) onto the steering shaft assembly (2).
  7. Firmly seat the snap ring (3) into the groove on the steering shaft assembly (2).
  8. Remove the centering tab and disconnect from the new SRS coil assembly (4).

    9. Object Number: 415293 Size: SH
  9. Reconnect the SRS coil assembly connector to the turn signal switch assembly connector.
  10. Attach a new wire harness assembly (1) to the wire harness strap (2) and the steering column.
  11. Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Disassemble - Off Vehicle .

Assembly Procedure

    Object Number: 293254 Size: SH
  1. Align the block tooth on the steering shaft assembly (1) to the 12 o' clock position.

    3. Object Number: 293252 Size: SH
  3. Install the wave washer (1) onto the steering shaft assembly (2).

    4. Object Number: 322951 Size: SH

    Important: A new SRS coil assembly will be pre-centered. Do not remove the centering tab from the new SRS coil assembly until the installation is complete.

  4. If reusing the original SRS coil assembly, refer to Inflatable Restraint Coil Centering - Off Vehicle (Column Shift and Floor Shift)
  5. Align the SRS coil assembly (4) with the horn tower on the turn signal cancel cam assembly (1).
  6. Slide the new SRS coil assembly (4) onto the steering shaft assembly (2).
  7. Firmly seat the snap ring (3) into the groove on the steering shaft assembly (2).
  8. Remove and discard the centering tab from the new SRS coil assembly (4).

    9. Object Number: 415293 Size: SH
  9. Reconnect the SRS coil assembly connector to the turn signal switch assembly connector.
  10. Attach the wire harness assembly (1) to the steering column wire harness strap (2).
  11. Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Trim Covers, Shift Lever Seal - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
