The windshield wiper/washer system consists of a permanent-magnet wiper motor, a wiper transmission, two wiper arm and blade assemblies, a washer pump mounted on a washer solvent container, and a wiper/washer switch.

Pulse and timing functions, along with the demand wash function, are controlled by a printed circuit board in the wiper motor module. The wiper motor is also equipped with RFI (radio frequency interference) suppression.
