Dry Application

Important: Most stripes and decals can be applied dry as long as the application is bubble-free. Wet mount stripes or decals that wrap into the body openings or are mounted on flexible surfaces.

Apply the decals in a clean environment. Do not allow dust or fibers to interfere with proper adhesion.

    Object Number: 370129 Size: SH
  1. Clean the areas where the decal or the stripe will be mounted.

  3. Dry the area thoroughly.

Wet Application

    Object Number: 303082 Size: SH
  1. Use a wetting agent such as Dupont® Duponal WA or an equivalent. Do not use a soap solution.
  2. Duponal is a paste. Mix Duponal with water (5 percent Duponal WA and 95 percent water). Follow the manufacturer's instructions and warnings.

  3. Remove the backing from the decal or the stripe.
  4. In hot, humid weather, spray the back of the decal with a mist of the wetting solution.

  5. Start at the center of the decal and squeegee the decal to the body. Using a squeegee removes air bubbles and wetting solution.
  6. Remove the premask from the decal by pulling the premask back onto the premask. Do not lift the premask straight up.
  7. Use a squeegee on the decal.
  8. Prick any air bubbles with a pin.
  9. Heat decals that are at or below the belt line of the vehicle to at least 60°C (140°F). Use a Teflon sheathed squeegee on the decal while the decal is still hot.
