Verify that the fasten safety belt chime is always on.

Is the chime operating properly?

Disconnect the seat belt switch connector.

Does the seat belt alarm stop sounding?

Replace the seat belt switch. Refer to Front Seat Belt Buckle Replacement in Seat Belts.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 238 (BLK/WHT) between the seat belt switch and the BCM. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. If there is no short to ground, replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
