RETENTION OF FROM DOOR LOCK SWITCH (RPL. DOOR LOCK BEZEL)

SUBJECT: RETENTION OF FRONT DOOR LOCK SWITCH - REPLACE DOOR LOCK BEZEL

MODELS\YEARS: 1992-1993 ACHIEVA

THIS BULLETIN HAS BEEN UPDATED TO INCLUDE THE 1992 MODEL YEAR.

CONDITION:

--------- Some owners of 1992-1993 Achieva models equipped with power door locks (built before VIN breakpoint PMO 1 6842) may comment on the front left and\or right-hand lock switch assemblies becoming disengaged from the bezel when the switch is pressed.

CAUSE:

----- Lock switch retention legs on the switch bezel are too flexible to maintain pressure against lock switch when force is applied.

CORRECTION:

---------- Replace door lock bezel with P\N 22588802 (RH) or 22588803 (LH) using the service procedure found in Section 10-6 of the 1993 service manual.
