Removal Procedure
- Remove the RH engine splash
shield (wheel house panel).
- Disconnect the hoses from the EVAP canister.
- Remove the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt (1).
- Remove the EVAP canister (2) and retainer (3).
Notice: The EVAP canister may have released carbon particles which caused this
part to fail and may cause damage to other components. Check the EVAP canister
for loose carbon before returning the vehicle to service.
- Remove the EVAP canister retainer (3) from the canister (2).
Installation Procedure
- Snap the EVAP canister
retainer (3) onto the EVAP canister (2).
Important: When installing the EVAP retainer to the EVAP canister, the attaching
bolt must be towards the front of the vehicle and the hose ports must be towards
the rear of the vehicle.
- Install the rearward end of the EVAP canister retainer (3) into
the slot in the PCM bracket (rotate the EVAP canister to insert the top of
the EVAP canister under the tab on the PCM bracket).
- Install the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt (1).
Tighten
Tighten the EVAP canister retainer attaching bolt to 10 N·m
(88 lb in).
- Connect the hoses to the EVAP canister.
- Install the RH engine splash shield (wheel house panel).
