Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Recover the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Remove the right front tire/wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  5. Partially remove the splash shield.

  7. Remove both of the lines (3,6) at the receiver dehydrator (4). Discard the O-ring (1) seals.
  8. Remove the receiver dehydrator bracket bolts (5).

  9. Object Number: 366918  Size: SH
  10. Remove the receiver dehydrator assembly (6).
  11. Remove the receiver dehydrator (6) from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the receiver dehydrator (6) to the bracket.
  2. Install the receiver dehydrator assembly (6). If you replace the receiver dehydrator, refer to Refrigerant Oil Distribution Specifications .

  3. Object Number: 366921  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install both lines (3,6) at the receiver dehydrator (4) using the new O-ring (1) seals.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fittings to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  6. Install the receiver dehydrator bracket bolt (5).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the right splash shield.
  9. Install the tire/wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  13. Evacuate and charge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  14. Perform a leak test. Refer to Leak Testing .
