Removal Procedure

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Hoist the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 625819  Size: SH
  3. Loosen the EVAP vent solenoid valve hose clamp and slide the clamp down the hose away from the EVAP vent solenoid valve hose connection.
  4. Remove the hose from the EVAP vent solenoid valve.

  5. Object Number: 625834  Size: SH
  6. Remove the EVAP vent solenoid valve by placing a pry bar between the valve and mounting surface, and moving the valve forward.

  7. Object Number: 409023  Size: SH
  8. Remove the clip from the EVAP vent solenoid valve electrical connector.

  9. Object Number: 409025  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the EVAP vent solenoid valve electrical connector.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 409025  Size: SH
  1. Connect the EVAP vent solenoid valve electrical connector.

  2. Object Number: 409023  Size: SH
  3. Install the clip in to the EVAP vent solenoid valve electrical connector.

  4. Object Number: 625834  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the EVAP vent solenoid valve by pushing the mounts into the original holes.

  6. Object Number: 625819  Size: SH
  7. Lubricate the hose ends with lubricant.
  8. Install the hose to the EVAP vent solenoid valve.
  9. Slide the EVAP vent solenoid valve hose clamp down on to the hose connection at the EVAP vent solenoid valve.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
