Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable.
  2. Remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
  3. Install the J 28467-B and the J 36462-A .
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Remove the exhaust resonator pipe from the right (rear) exhaust manifold. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  6. Remove the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
  7. Remove the right wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement in Body Front End.

  9. Remove the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts.
  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Raise the engine, using the J 28467-B .
  12. Raise the vehicle.

  13. Object Number: 96010  Size: SH
  14. Remove the engine mount upper nuts.
  15. Remove the engine mount bracket from the engine mount.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 96010  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount bracket to the engine mount.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine mount upper nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount upper nuts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Lower the engine, using theJ 28467-B .
  7. Remove the J 28467-B and the J 36462-A .
  8. Raise the vehicle.

  10. Install the engine mount bracket to the oil pan.
  11. Install the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount bracket bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  13. Install the right wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement in Body Front End.
  14. Install the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  15. Connect the exhaust resonator pipe to the right (rear) exhaust manifold. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Install the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
  18. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
