Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.4L or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
  2. Remove and set aside the under hood fuse block Underhood Fuse Block Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  3. Release the wiring harness retainers and set the wiring harness aside.
  4. Remove the bracket to strut tower bolts from the air cleaner and fuse block mounting bracket.
  5. Remove the bracket to body bolts from the air cleaner and fuse block mounting bracket.
  6. Remove the mounting bracket from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the mounting bracket to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bracket to body bolts to the air cleaner and fuse block mounting bracket.
  4. Tighten

  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to

  7. Place the wiring harness into position and secure the wiring harness retainers.
  8. Install the under hood fuse block. Refer to Underhood Fuse Block Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  9. Install th air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.4L or Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.4L.
