Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 175770  Size: SH
  3. Remove the trailing arm-to-knuckle bolt (2), the washer (3) and the bushing (4).

  4. Object Number: 175773  Size: SH
  5. Remove the trailing arm to body bolt (2).
  6. Remove the trailing arm (3) from the body (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 175770  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the trailing arm-to-knuckle bolt (2), the washer (3), and the bushing (4). Hand tighten the nut.

  2. Object Number: 175773  Size: SH
  3. Connect the trailing arm (3) to the body (1) and install the bolt (2).
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the trailing arm to body bolt to 65 N·m (48 lb ft) plus a 120 degree rotation.
        • Tighten the knuckle bolt to 69 N·m (51 lb ft).
  5. Lower the vehicle.
