Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fluid level switch (1).

  2. Object Number: 482967  Size: SH

    Caution: Brake fluid may irritate eyes and skin. In case of contact, take the following actions:

       • Eye contact--rinse thoroughly with water.
       • Skin contact--wash with soap and water.
       • If ingested--consult a physician immediately.

    Notice: Brake fluid will damage electrical connections and painted surfaces. Use shop cloths, suitable containers, and fender covers to prevent brake fluid from contacting these areas. Always re-seal and wipe off brake fluid containers to prevent spills.

  3. Position a suitable container under the master cylinder to catch the brake fluid when removing the fluid level switch (3).
  4. Remove the fluid level switch(3). Use needle nose pliers in order to compress the switch locking tabs at the inboard side of the master cylinder reservoir.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 385200  Size: SH
  1. Install the fluid level switch (1) into the master cylinder reservoir until the locking tabs snap in place.
  2. Install the electrical connector to the fluid level switch (1).
  3. Fill the master cylinder. Use Delco Supreme No. II Hydraulic Brake Fluid (GM P/N 12377967) or equivalent DOT-3 motor vehicle brake fluid.
