For 1990-2009 cars only
| • | Inspection of the brake shoes can be performed when removing the tire and wheel. The brake drum has an access hole (2) for viewing the thickness of the brake shoe lining. |
| • | Inspect the rear brake shoes every 6,000 miles and any time the wheels are removed (tire rotation, etc.). Replace the rear brake shoes when the lining is worn to within 0.76 mm (0.030 in) of the shoe. Always replace the rear brake shoes as a complete axle set. |
