Inspect the instrument panel compartment lamp.

Is the lamp filiment open?

Go to Step 9

  1. Disconnect the instrument panel compartment lamp/switch assembly connector.
  2. Use a testlamp connected to a good ground in order to test for battery positive voltage at terminal A of the instrument panel compartment lamp/switch connector.

Does the testlamp light?

Go to Step 4

Use a testlamp connected to battery positive voltage in order to test for ground at terminal B of the instrument panel compartment lamp/switch connector.

Does the testlamp light?

Go to Step 5

Inspect for poor connections at the instrument panel compartment lamp/switch connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in CKT 1732 between the lamp/switch connector and the left IP junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the instrument panel compartment lamp/switch assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Lamp Switch Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Repair the open in the ground CKT 250. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
