Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

Test for an open, short to ground or high resistance in the instrument panel dimming lamps circuit (8) between the lamp dimmer module and the right IP junction block. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 3

Test for an open or short to ground in CKT 44 between the lamp dimmer module and the dimmer switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 4

Test for an open in the power feed circuits to the dimmer switch and lamp dimmer module. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 5

Connect a fused jumper between terminal B of the dimmer switch and battery positive.

Do the instrument panel lamps light?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Replace the dimmer switch. Refer to Instrument Panel Lamp Dimmer Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Replace the lamp dimmer module. Refer to Instrument Panel Lamp Dimmer Replacement .
