Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Inspect the rear compartment courtesy lamp bulb.

Is the bulb filiment open?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 3

Use a testlamp connected to a good ground in order to test for battery positive voltage at terminal C of the rear compartment courtesy lamp connector.

Does the testlamp light?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

1. Disconnect the rear compartment release motor switch.
2. Use a testlamp connected to battery positive voltage in order to test for ground at terminal B of the rear compartment release motor/switch.

Does the testlamp light?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 10

Replace the rear compartment courtesy lamp bulb. Refer to Cargo Lamp Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Inspect for poor connections at the rear compartment courtesy lamp connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 11

Test for an open in CKT 737 between the lamp connector and the switch connector. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring System

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 8

Inspect for poor connections at the rear compartment release motor/switch connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

System OK

Go to Step 9

Replace the rear compartment release motor/switch. Refer to Lock System Replacement - Rear Compartment in Body Rear End.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Repair the open in the ground CKT 750. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Repair the open in CKT 1732 between the left IP junction block and the rear compartment courtesy lamp connector. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

System OK
