Removal Procedure

  1. Pull back the rear compartment trim panel to gain accesse to the antenna. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.

  2. Object Number: 278034  Size: SH
  3. Remove the antenna mast (2) from the antenna mounting spacer (3).
  4. Disconnect the antenna lead-in (4) from the antenna bracket (1).
  5. Remove the screws (5) from the antenna bracket (1).
  6. Remove the antenna bracket from the antenna mounting spacer (3) and the wheelhouse pinchweld flange.
  7. Remove the antenna mounting spacer (3) from the quarter panel by pulling out, and using a soapy lubricant to aid in the removal.

Installation Procedure

  1. Apply a soapy lubricant to the antenna mounting spacer (3) and quarter panel to aid in the installation of the antenna mounting spacer (3).
  2. Install the antenna mounting spacer (3) to the quarter panel.
  3. Connect the antenna lead-in (4) to the antenna (1).
  4. Install the antenna bracket (1) to the antenna mounting spacer (3) until fully seated while alining the antenna bracket to the upper hole in the pinchweld flange of the inner wheelhouse.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the screws to the antenna bracket.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the antenna bracket screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  8. Install the antenna mast (2) to the antenna base.
  9. Pull back the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.
