  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn ON the radio.
  3. Insert the tape or CD from the J 39916-A Speaker Diagnostic Kit.

Test the appropriate speaker outputs from the radio for a short to ground or a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the appropriate speaker outputs from the amplifier (terminals B9, B10, B11, and B12) for a short to ground or a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
