For the DE 100 series radio, complete the following
procedure, using a scan tool, in order to properly set up communication:
- At the Main Menu screen, select: Diagnostics.
- At the Vehicle Identification screen, select the following options:
- At the System Selection Menu screen, select: Body.
- At the Vehicle Identification screen, select the N (Platform type).
- At the Body screen, select: Radio.
- At the Radio screen, select: Special Functions.
- At the Special Functions screen, select: Radio Setup.
- At the Radio Setup screen, press ENTER (The following test will
set up a new or existing radio).
- Select one of the following Regular Production Options (RPO) using
the arrow keys and press ENTER.
- Select one of the following options:
- Press the ENTER key.
- Verify that the scan tool displays "Test in Progress."
- Verify that the scan tool displays "Test Completed Successfully."
- Press EXIT on the scan tool.
Important: The radio set up will configure the following systems:

Without learning the VIN, the radio will display a locked message (LOC).
The radio setup procedure will also clear the following messages:
- Cycle the ignition.
Radio Tuner Calibration
In order to calibrate the radio, begin at the Special Functions screen.
Repeat step 1 through step 7 of the Radio Setup, if needed.
- At the Special Functions screen, select F1: Set Options.
- At the Set Options screen, select F1: Tuner Setting.
Important: The F0: Country Code option does not contain a submenu. Country
Code sets the point of sale, or origin, in the radio in order to calibrate
the tuner for the country that the vehicle will be used in.
- At the Tuner Setting screen, select F0: Country Code.
Radio Chime Volume Selection
In order to set the chime volume, begin at the Special Functions screen.
Repeat step 1 through step 7 of the Radio Setup, if needed.
- At the Special Functions screen, select F1: Set Options.
- At the Set Options screen, select F0: Chime Settings.
Important: The F1: Loud Chime Volume and the F2: Normal Chime Volume
options do not contain a submenu. These selections are used for setting the
volume when the radio is replaced.
- At the Chime Settings screen, select one of the following options:

Radio Chime Level Selection
In order to set the Chime Level, begin at the Special Functions screen.
Repeat step 1 through step 7 of the Radio Setup, if needed.
- At the Special Functions screen, select F1: Set Options.
- At the Set Options screen, select F0: Chime Settings.
Important: The F0: Chime Level option does not contain a submenu. The Chime
Level setting has an option of setting a normal chime or a loud chime when
the radio is replaced.
- At the Chime Settings screen, select F0: Chime Level.
