Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, leaving the engine off.
  3. Command the instrument cluster indicators on.

Does the low washer fluid indicator illuminate?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 8

  1. Disconnect the windshield washer solvent level switch connector.
  2. Turn ON the ignition switch.
  3. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the signal circuit and the ground circuit.

Does the Low Washer Fluid indicator illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

  1. Inspect for a poor connection at the washer solvent level switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. If OK, replace the washer solvent level switch.

Did you complete the repair?

System OK

Test for an open in the ground circuit of the washer solvent level switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Test the signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Test for a poor connection at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Important: Perform the setup procedure for the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .
