Did you perform the Lighting Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Use the Scan Tool in order to command the courtesy lamps on.

Do the courtesy lamps light?

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the door jamb switch from the door that does not light the courtesy lamps. (If the lamps are inoperative from every door, use any door jamb switch.)
  2. Monitor the DOOR AJAR SWITCH input in the LAMP STATUS data list with the Scan Tool.
  3. Use a fused jumper in order to ground circuit 395 (passenger door) or circuit 394 (driver door).

Does the DOOR AJAR SWITCH input toggle?

Test CKT 394 (passenger door) or CKT 395 (driver door) for an open between the body control module (BCM) and the door jamb switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct an open?

System OK

Go to Step 9

Test CKT 650 between the door jamb switch and ground for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct an open?

System OK

Test for an open or short to ground in the power feed CKT 340 from the INT LPS fuse to the BCM connector C3 terminal A12. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct an open?

System OK

Test for an open or short to ground in CKT 1732 from the BCM. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct an open?

Test for an open in CKT 156 from the BCM. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct an open?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the door jamb switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

    Important: Perform the set up procedure for the body control module.

  1. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration .
  2. Replace the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
