Rear Side Door Window Switch Replacement Pontiac

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 396156  Size: SH
  1. Pry at the top of the rear door power window switch (1) using a flat blade screwdriver.
  2. Disconnect the wire harness connector (2) from the rear door power window switch.
  3. Remove the switch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 396156  Size: SH
  1. Position and connect the wire harness connector (2) to the rear door power window switch (1).
  2. Install the rear door power window switch (1).

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the lower switch bezel trim screw access panel.
  2. Remove the lower switch bezel trim screws.
  3. Remove the lower switch bezel trim panel.

  4. Object Number: 585378  Size: SH
  5. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to pry the rear door power window switch bezel assembly (1) upward.
  6. Remove the rear door power window switch bezel assembly (1) from the rear door trim panel.
  7. Disconnect the rear door power window switch electrical connector.
  8. Release the rear door power window switch retainers.
  9. Remove the rear door power window switch from the bezel assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear door power window switch to the rear door power window switch bezel assembly (1). Ensure that the retainers are locked into place.
  2. Connect the rear door power window switch electrical connector.
  3. Install the rear door power window switch bezel assembly (1) to the rear door trim panel. Ensure that the retainers are locked into place.
  4. Install the lower switch bezel trim panel.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the lower switch bezel trim screws.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the lower switch bezel trim screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the lower switch bezel trim screw access cover.
