Removal Procedure
- From inside the rear compartment, unlatch the folding seat back that is operating properly.
- From inside the rear compartment, unlatch the stuck portion of the rear seat back from the center pivot bracket, pulling the seat back frontward.
- Reach between the rear seat cushion and the rear seat back, detach the velcro that holds the carpet flap on the back of the seat back.
- With the entire flap loose, pull the foam pad away from the plastic panel.
- Reach between the foam and the panel to the top of the panel until you reach the latch mechanism.
- Release the latch pawl from the striker pin and pull the split back open.
- Remove the split folding back from the outboard pivot location and remove the back from the vehicle.
- Detach the "S" fitting on the latch cable into the slot in the latch pawl.
Important: The seat back will still be attached at the outboard pivot area and the striker pin/latch area.
Installation Procedure
- Install the "S" fitting or the new latch cable into the slot in the latch pawl.
- Relocate the foam on the panel.
- Reposition the trim.
- Install the rear seat back, place the outboard pivot bolt on the rear seat back in the outboard pivot in the vehicle.
- Attach the inboard pivot bolt into the center pivot bracket and adjust trim.
- Close the split folding seat and check for proper operation.
