Removal Procedure

    Important: Do not disconnect the brake hose from the caliper. Support or hang the caliper. Do not allow the caliper to hang by the brake hose.

  1. Remove the rear brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
  2. Remove the caliper bracket bolts (2).
  3. Remove the caliper bracket.
  4. Remove the boots from the bracket.
  5. Inspect the bracket for cracks.
  6. Replace the bracket if necessary.

Installation Procedure

  1. Apply a few drops of LOCTITE® GM P/N 12345382 (or equivalent) to the threads of the mounting bolt before installing.
  2. Lubricate the caliper bracket bolt boots with GM P/N 18010908 silicone grease or equivalent.
  3. Install the bolt boots into the caliper bracket (1).
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the caliper bracket (1) with the bracket bolts (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the caliper bracket bolts to 115 N·m (85 lb ft).

  7. Install the rear brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement .
