Removal Procedure
- Remove the front bucket seat. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
.
- Remove the seat cushion cover and the cushion as one piece. Refer to
Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement
.
- Remove the electrical wire harness from the cushion frame (8),
if equipped.
- Remove the seat adjuster bolts (9) from the seat cushion frame (8).
- Remove the seat adjuster (2) from the cushion frame (8).
- Remove the seat adjuster 2-way handle retaining clip, if equipped.
Remove the 2-way handle (1) from the seat adjusters (2).
- Remove the seat belt buckle bolt (4).
Remove the seat belt buckle (3).
- For the 6-way adjuster remove the motor support bracket. Refer to
Front Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement
.
- For the 2-way or 4-way adjuster, perform the
following steps if required:
9.1. | Remove the seat adjuster return springs (1, 3). |
9.2. | Remove the seat adjuster linkage wire (4). |
9.3. | Drill out the rivet (5) for the electrical wire harness bracket. |
Remove the bracket from the seat adjuster.
9.4. | Disconnect the electrical wire harness (2) from the adjuster motor,
if equipped. |
Installation Procedure
- For the 2-way or the 4-way adjuster, perform
the following steps if required:
1.1. | Connect the electrical wire harness (2) to the adjuster motor. |
1.2. | Attach the electrical wire harness bracket to the seat adjuster. Install
a rivet (5) to the electrical wire harness bracket, and rivet the bracket
to the seat adjuster with a rivet gun. |
1.3. | Install the seat adjuster linkage wire (4). |
1.4. | Install the seat adjuster return springs (1, 3). |
- For the 6-way adjuster install the motor support bracket. Refer to
Front Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement
.
- Install the seat belt buckle (3).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the seat belt buckle bolt (4).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 48 N·m (35 lb ft).
- Install the 2-way handle (1) to the seat adjuster (2), if
equipped.
Install the seat adjuster 2-way handle retaining clip.
- Position the seat adjuster (2) to the cushion frame (8).
- Install the seat adjuster bolts (9) to the cushion frame (8).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install electrical wire harness to the seat cushion frame if required.
- Install the seat cushion cover and the cushion as one piece. Refer to

- Install the front bucket seat. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket
