Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Remove the tires and the wheels. Refer to Wheel Removal in Wheels and Tires.
  3. Use a block of wood at least seven inches long in order to support the exhaust and the rear of the support assembly.
  4. Remove the four exhaust hangers.
  5. Remove the two rear support assembly bolts and lower the support assembly and exhaust together.

  6. Object Number: 105039  Size: SH
  7. Remove the two bolts and the rear body mount.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105039  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the rear body mount and the two bolts ensuring that OUT is toward the outboard of the vehicle.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 51 N·m (38 lb ft).

  3. Raise and support the assembly and the exhaust.
  4. Install the two bolts that secure the support assembly to the body of the vehicle.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 165 N·m (122 lb ft).

  6. Install the four exhaust hangers
  7. Install the tires and the wheels. Refer to Wheel Installation .
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel nuts to 140 N·m (100 lb  ft).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
