Cleaning Procedure
- Clean the water crossover in solvent.
Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.
- Dry the
water crossover with compressed air.
Inspection Procedure
- Inspect the water crossover for corrosion or damage to the gasket sealing
surfaces (1).
- Inspect the water crossover for the following:
• | Corrosion or damage to the seal/gasket sealing surfaces for the
following: |
• | Corrosion or damage to the threads for the following connections: |
- | EGR inlet pipe bolt (6) |
- | EGR outlet pipe bolt (10) |
• | Corrosion or damage to the throttle body heater pipe (1) |
• | Corrosion or damage to the heater hose outlet fitting (4) |
• | Corrosion or damage to the fastener bosses (7) |
• | Corrosion or damage to the radiator hose outlet (8) |
• | Corrosion or restrictions within the engine coolant passages |
• | Corrosion or restrictions within the EGR passages |
- Repair or replace the water crossover as necessary.
